'Final Fantasy 13 Lightning Returns' Release Date: How Many HOURS Of Gameplay Will Players Have To Look Forward To? (TRAILER)

"Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII" will give players many hours of open-world driven gaming to explore.

Game makers Square Enix confirmed to IGN that the newest "Final Fantasy" installment will give players about 50 hours of gameplay.

"The way the game moves, one period of 24 hours within the game world itself will take play time in the real world around two or three hours of actual, real time," gameplay director Yuji Abe told IGN. "Having said that, opening menus, customizing your characters, talking to some people or just listening to certain things will cause time to stop. So it isn't quite as short as you'd think.

"Overall, when I did the test plays during the development period, I played through from start to finish trying to see almost all of the aspects of the game and it took roughly about 50 hours," he added. "So no, I think this is one that'll take a good chunk of time, and people will be able to enjoy it for a good long while."

The game is heavily driven by time, so depending on what time to day it is, you will be able to experience different events and take part in numerous side missions. Depending on your actions, time can be "delayed" or it will continue, drawing you close to the end of days.

"For example, there are people who are there during the day, but at nighttime nobody's in the streets,"Abe told IGN. "Or there are certain areas where you can go at certain times. A shop might be open during business hours, but you can't go in when it's late at night. So the basics are that when you go to an area, there's not going to be a dramatic change like you saw in XIII-2, where you'd have ruins in one era and in another era it would be filled with people."

"Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII" will be released on Feb. 11, 2014.
