Yolanda Foster is looking on the bright side. A day after announcing her divorce from husband David Foster, the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star shared a motivational message to herself and her fans on Twitter.
"What defines us is how we rise after falling....." she wrote. Later adding, "Tap into your intuition, stay centered and become more empowered....... #NoteToSelf."
The 51-year-old reality star, who is battling Lyme disease, also pleaded with fans to stop judging her life decisions, writing, "We've grown apart but my love & respect for @officialdfoster is still the same, he's been very good 2 me so pls don't judge our journey!"
On Tuesday, David and Yolanda, who tied the knot in 2011, announced that they were calling it quits after four years together.
"Sadly we have decided to go our separate ways," the couple said in a joint statement to People. "We've shared nine beautiful and joyous years together. During that time we experienced love, friendship and the inevitable challenges that come with managing a marriage, careers, blended families and health issues.
"We are grateful for the years we've spent together and believe wholeheartedly that we did our best. We hope that we can pave the road ahead of us with all we've learned and with the love and respect we will always have for one another."
Yolanda and David's divorce had been in the works for some time since the two had been "separated for months," according to Us Weekly. A source claimed that the two started to drift apart in 2012 after Yolanda was diagnosed with Lyme disease. A source told People that Yolanda's medical condition put a strain on her relationship with David.
"Things really changed in their relationship as Yolanda got sick, and then when her health worsened," a source told People. "David travels all the time and they simply weren't spending any time together. They just grew apart and the intense stress over her health and the disease was very hard on their marriage."
Yolanda has three children from her first marriage to Mohamed Hadid - Gigi, 20, Bella, 19, and Anwar, 16. David is father to five daughters and has been married four times.
