Just days after Kanye West proposed to his girlfriend Kim Kardashian on her 33rd birthday, pop star and Kardashian family friend Demi Lovato learned of the proposal via an interview with E! News, and revealed why she'd previously threatened the rapper.
"I've told Kanye before that if he doesn't treat her well, I'm going to come after him," Lovato told E! News, after admitting that she doesn't "read anything" in the tabloids and had yet to learn of her friend's engagement. "With Kim, she's been such a good friend to me in really rough times, and I'm happy to see her really happy and treated right. Thank you for letting me know because now I'm going to text her and say congratulations, oh my God! This is amazing!"
Lovato previously attended Kardashian's glamorous bridal shower and wedding to Kris Humphries back in 2011 (the same day the Lovato turned 19!) Kardashian having been there for the star after she entered treatment in 2010 for an eating disorder and mental health issues.
As for her own road to recovery, Lovato told E! News that she plans on working "really really really really" hard over the next few years so she can take a year or two off. The "X-Factor" judge and mentor also revealed that she's teased her boss and fellow panelist, Simon Cowell, on becoming his new baby boy's godmother.
"I told him I really want to babysit," she said. "I told him if I'm not the godmother to your son, I'm gonna be so pissed!" She did admit, however, that the godmother thing may not be happening.
"The X-Factor" live shows begin next week, and Lovato explained why she'd recently chosen a shocking shade of teal for her hair color.
"I wanted to do something different and fun...I wanted to have a really crazy color on the panel so everyone looks different."
Lovato also said she was very relieved to have gotten the girls category for season 3, her second season on the U.S. version of the show, as she would have felt awkward mentoring people older than her and "knows nothing about groups."
When it comes to her own personal life, Lovato chose to remain mum on the subject, though E! News was happy to reveal recent paparazzi shots of her holding hands with her boyfriend, Wilmer Valderrama, a relationship she's chosen to keep private.
