Jar Jar Binks, who irked many "Star Wars" fans with his appearance in 1999's "The Phantom Menace," will not feature in the upcoming film in the franchise, "The Force Awakens," producer Kathleen Kennedy confirmed over the weekend.
"Jar Jar is definitely not in the movie," Kennedy revealed at the film's press junket in Los Angeles on Sunday, according to People.
The bumbling Gungan from the planet of Naboo was incorporated by George Lucas in the film for the purpose of comic relief but ended up annoying "Star Wars" fans to the point that he was voted as the most annoying character in film history in 2006, according to The Guardian.
And that's not all, the furry creatures from 1983's "Return of the Jedi" will also be absent from the highly-anticipated film. "Ewoks are not in the movie. Harrison (Ford) insisted on it," Kennedy joked, after which director J.J. Abrams confirmed the statement.
"No, there are no Ewoks in this film", he said before Carrie Fisher quipped, " ... That you're aware of," according to The Huffington Post.
Abrams also revealed at the press conference there will no post-credits scene in the film. "All the scenes are actually in the movie," he revealed.
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" opens in theaters on Dec. 18.
