Minecraft fans, rejoice! And while you're at it, Nintendo fans rejoice as well. The wait is finally over. Minecraft will soon be available on Nintendo Wii U consoles, according to Wired.
Nintendo released the news on Monday that "Minecraft: Wii U Edition" will be available starting December 17 for $29.99, according to Forbes. The game has already been available for Windows, OS X, Linux, iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, PS Vita, and Raspberry Pi.
So to say this has been a long time coming would be a gross understatement.
"Minecraft" has sold more than 70 millions copies across a wide spectrum of gaming platforms, according to Time. This makes its move to Nintendo somewhat of an inevitability.
Including in the cost of the game are six add-on packs. These include Battle & Beasts 1 & 2 Skin Packs, Natural Texture Pack, City Texture Pack, Fantasy Texture Pack and Festive Mash-up Pack. Nintendo will also sell 16 other add-on packs separately.
Mojang, the company that created "Minecraft," was recently acquired by Microsoft in 2015, according to Wired. This could mean a vast expansion of "Minecraft's" reach for years to come.
