Last night, on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," John Cena was supposed to be promoting his new film "Sisters," but ended up killing his inner child instead. Things took a turn for the strange as the WWE wrestler-turned-actor tried to work out some of his inner demons. It all started after host Fallon told Cena, "I love you."
"What's love? Is it a feeling? Is it a thing? Maybe it's that voice in your head that says, 'Go for it all, buddy. If you fall, I'll catch you,'" said Cena as the lights dimmed. "Cut to schoolyard playground, 1984. Her name? Stacy Henderson. There I am, little Johnny Cena. 'Stacy, I'm so gwad you're my girlfriend. I wuv you.'"
Cena then went into a rendition of Adele's song "Hello." Then, a confused Fallon cut him off.
"John, John, John! What are you doing, man?" asked Fallon. "Those aren't even the right words."
"I guess I've always had trouble finding the right words," responded Cena before delivering another monologue.
The "Sisters" star then told a second story — this one about his childhood dog Ruffles. Singer Troye Sivan, "The Tonight Show's" musical guest for the evening, then joined him as he began singing "Hello" again.
"Wait, who are you?" asked Cena.
"It's me," replied Sivan. "Your inner child."
"Little Johnny? It's me! It's Papa John!" said Cena. "I finally found you."
He then killed his inner child by tossing him aside.
"I've finally done it," said Cena. "My inner child is dead. Now I can become a man."
