A distraught 7-year-old sat down to write a letter to Santa, more of a plea, begging him to find her little dog that was stolen in West Yorks in England, according to the Daily Mail.
Isla Kerr and her father Darren had tied up the blind Boston Terrier outside a shop for just a matter of minutes while they went inside for Ice Cream on Wednesday. When they came back out, Dolly the dog had been stolen. Her leash was still there, but Dolly was gone. Video footage of a nearby shop shows a man in a hoodie taking Dolly.
The entire family was upset that someone would take their beloved pet, a 3-year-old Boston Terrier that is blind and needs daily medication, so they made flyers and set up a Facebook page for Operation: Get Dolly Home.
"She's so upset that someone has her and none of us are sleeping," said Isla's mother Vanessa, according to the Mirror. "It's just such an awful feeling not knowing where she is, when she'll be so desperate to come home."
Isla sat down and penned a letter to Santa, stating she didn't care about presents, and instead pleaded that she just wanted Dolly home.
"Dear Santa, All I want for Christmas is my dog to come back. I do not care about presents, all I care about is my dog Dolly to comeback. I miss her so much and love her. Love Isla Kerr xxxx," the letter reads.
"She came up with the idea of writing to Santa because as she told me, 'Santa can do anything.' It will break her heart if her dream doesn't come true," added Vanessa.
And with the magic of Christmas, miracles do indeed happen and Dolly was brought back to the Kerrs.
Vanessa posted on her Get Dolly Home Facebook page that she had received a call from a gentleman who had found Dolly on Monday, according to White Wolf Pack. Excited, Vanessa asked him to bring her home to daddy Darren and Isla, and sure enough, it was their missing pup. A happy, complete family is now set for Christmas.
