Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton injured his right thumb after trying to make a tackle after throwing a goalline interception, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports. Dalton has been ruled out for the rest of the afternoon following the thumb injury, according to the NFL's Twitter account.
The Bengals quarterback is seen on the sideline with a cast on his right hand, which does not seem to be a good sign for the Bengals franchise quarterback. Backup quarterback A.J. McCarron has stepped in and will look to lead the Bengals to a victory over AFC North rival the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Cincinnati also lost star tight end Tyler Eifert, who suffered a concussion on Sunday, according to La Canfora. The Bengals tight end is now in concussion protocol and has been declared out for the rest of the game, according to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Dalton and Eifert's injuries was not the only significant injury news to happen Sunday, as Seattle Seahawks running back Thomas Rawls has been ruled out with an ankle injury, according to Zac Jackson of Pro Football Talk. Rawls had rushed for 44 yards before suffering the injury, and with Marshawn Lynch still out following a sports hernia surgery, running back Fred Jackson becomes Seattle's top back.
