Chris Brown is once again in trouble after allegedly punching a man in the face over the weekend. The singer's ex-girlfriend Rihanna fears he may be on a "self-destructive" path and is upset over this recent news. A source close to Rihanna reportedly told Hollywood Life that the "Stay" singer hates to see Brown getting in trouble with the law again but is concerned for him.
"Once again she's relieved she's not involved," the source said. "She's given up on all that drama and is so happy she's not part of that foolishness."
Brown's current girlfriend Karrueche Tran responded to the news on Twitter writing "I hate waking up to bad news."
"What is wrong with some of y'all? Did y'all parents not love y'all enough? Y'all gotta quit w/this negative shit 24 f**king 7," she continued.
Some of her followers weren't sure if she was addressing the tweet at Brown or at the alleged victim.
The "Fine China" singer and his bodyguard Christopher Hollosy were arrested during the early hours of Sunday morning in Washington D.C. for a felony assault after Brown allegedly got into a physical altercation breaking a man's nose, the Daily Mail reports.
There are conflicting reports about what started the fight. The alleged victim claims he and a friend tried to photobomb a picture Brown was taking with two female fans when the singer swung at them. However, Brown's team says the two men tried to trespass on the tour bus and the singer was only trying to stop them.
Even though it's not clear what really happened law enforcement officials said the "Love More" singer hurled homophobic slurs at the men and said 'I'm not into this gay s**t, I'm into boxing," before punching the man in the face.
Brown and his bodyguard were being held at a local police station and were expected to stay there until Monday morning when the singer could appear in front of a magistrate. Because the 24-year-old R&B singer is still on probation from a 2009 incident where he assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna, this charge could carry a four-year prison sentence if convicted.
