Country singer David Nail and his wife Catherine are now a family of four. The couple are now proud parents to twins, a son named Lawson Brent and daughter Lillian Catherine, E! News reported.
"No words can describe the feeling," the couple said in a joint statement. "Beyond worth the wait. We are crazy in love with them both."
The fraternal twins were reportedly born one minute apart Saturday morning. Lawson Brent Nail was born first at 7:44 a.m. and weighed six pounds, two ounces while his sister Lillian Catherine Nail arrived a minute later, weighing five pounds, 14 ounces.
David Nail posted a photograph of the twins on his website, along with the link to the story published on People.com. The twins are the first children for the couple, who wed in 2009.
The "Whatever She's Got" singer didn't reveal that he and his wife were expecting until they hit the red carpet at the Country Music Awards last month. At the time, the country star joked that his wife could give birth "any minute now, but hopefully in the next four weeks," according to People Magazine. Catherine Nail added, "We struggled with infertility for years and really just had to stick together to get through it."
David Nail also posted a photo on his Instagram account to show off himself and his wife cuddling her baby bump on the red carpet at the CMAs. He captioned the post, "We are beyond excited to finally be sharing this news with you all. We are extremely blessed and I am so thankful for my 'Fighter.'"
On Thursday, David Nail expressed could hardly contain his excitement about meeting his newborns, writing on Twitter, "Wide awake at 1:11. This must be my body practicing for our upcoming guests."
"This waiting around has got me going crazy!" he also wrote on Wednesday.
