Pop rockers Paramore announced that one of its founding members, bassist Jeremy Davis, has parted ways with the band, Alternative Press reported. The band addressed Davis' departure in a statement posted to the official Paramore Facebook page and promised fans that it would continue without Davis.
"We've written and re-written this countless times and there's just not a good way to put it... Jeremy is no longer going to be in the band with us," the band's statement read. "To be honest, this has been really painful. After taking time to consider how to move forward, we ultimately found that we really do believe Paramore can and should continue on. And so we will."
Davis was an original Paramore member and played bass. He performed on all four of the group's albums, Alternative Press reported, including 2013's self-titled LP that boasts radio hits like "Ain't It Fun" and "Still Into You."
Former lead guitarist Josh Farro and drummer Zac Farro left the band in 2010, according to Fuse. The only remaining original members of the group are lead singer Hayley Williams and guitarist Taylor York.
The statement did not disclose the reason behind Davis' departure, but it confirmed that Paramore would still host its rock cruise "Parahoy" which is set to embark on March 5, 2016.
"We're hopeful for Paramore's future and we're also excited for what Jeremy's going to do next," the statement continued. "Thank you all for your support and your belief in us. It's kept us going."
