Actor James Woods expressed his happiness at being alive after he survived a massive car crash involving six other cars in Glenwood Springs, Colo. on Monday. Woods shared his experiences in a series of posts on Twitter, thanking the EMTs and police officers who helped him through the ordeal.
The actor wrote that he was driving through the Glenwood Canyon when suddenly a "guy doing 75+ in an ice storm spun out."
"I hit right wall to avoid him, spun 180, hit left wall sliding backwards going 60 mph," the actor wrote. He added: "Huge drop 100 feet into river below, but the guardrail held. I managed to pull out and slide down out of oncoming traffic. Six car pileup."
The actor also wrote that he has a "little concussion," was "banged up" and his car was wrecked, but that there were no deaths and he was grateful that he and the other people involved in the crash survived.
The 68-year-old Oscar-nominated actor then went on to commend the people who immediately responded to the crash. "I tell you one thing, I admire the fire and police personnel and tow truck drivers out there in storms on dangerous roads. God bless them," he wrote.
The massive car crash took place at the westbound stretch of I-70 in Glenwood Canyon. Numerous cars spun out near the Hanging Lake exit on Monday afternoon, the State Department of Transportation confirmed Tuesday morning, according to The Denver Post.
Here are the actor's tweets about his experience:

Every person I dealt with here in Colorado was just superb, professional and caring. Victor at AAA and Kathy who got my stuff from car. — James Woods (@RealJamesWoods) December 15, 2015
Including me it was a seven car crash, I guess. Police told me I'm the only one who didn't hit anybody else. I just crashed into the walls.
