Kansas City Chiefs RUMORS: Justin Houston Could Miss Rest Of Regular Season

Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Justin Houston is reportedly set to see Dr. James Andrews on Wednesday regarding his knee injury, and some fear the star linebacker will miss the rest of the regular season, according to NFL reporter Rand Getlin.

Houston suffered the knee injury in Week 12 against the Buffalo Bills, and head coach Andy Reid said that he has suffered a sprained knee after the game. Earlier this month it was reported that Houston suffered a sprained PCL against Buffalo, according to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport. Houston recorded 30 combined tackles and 7.5 sacks this season prior to the knee injury.

Kansas City is currently sitting in the wild card spot in the current playoff picture, and is currently tied at 8-5 with the New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers. The Chiefs remaining schedule consists of the Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns and Oakland Raiders, and with each opponent having a losing records it's completely believable to see them winning out.

With Houston out for the foreseeable future, linebacker Derrick Johnson will look to continue to lead this defense down the stretch. Johnson has picked up his play since Kansas City lost Houston, and has recorded 20 tackles, a sack, and an interception in the past two games for the Chiefs.

Kansas City has won seven straight games after starting the season 1-5, and is currently ranked eighth in the league in terms of yards allowed per game. It's uncertain whether Houston will be able to return this season, but expect Kansas City's defense to continue to contend, as it has looked like one of the best defenses in the NFL the past couple weeks.
