The NFL trade deadline on Tuesday is hours away. As the 4:00 p.m. cutoff looms, here's the latest reports on some of the bigger names, including: Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez, Vikings defensive end Jared Allen, Browns receiver Josh Gordon and Giants receiver Hakeem Nicks.
ARTICLE (10/29/13): Latest Trade Rumors For Maurice Jones-Drew, Larry Fitzgerald, Darren McFadden, Jairus Byrd.
Tony Gonzalez:
Gonzalez has been the subject of trade talks after the Falcons' poor start to the season. At the age of 37, the Pro Bowl tight end is still producing (37 REC, 395 YDS, 3 TD), which makes him quick-fix solution for a playoff-bound team needing help at the position while giving the Falcons an additional pick(s) in the 2014 draft.
Although he's maintained he would never ask for a trade, Gonzalez did admit on Tuesday to ESPN that he would "listen" if the Falcons wanted to trade him.
Multiple outlets, including NFL Insider Ian Rapoport and ESPN's Adam Schefter, say the Falcons won't trade Gonzalez.
Jared Allen:
Allen becomes a free agent in March, and multiple media outlets report Allen will likely leave Minnesota. The Vikings would be willing to trade Allen, according to a tweet on Sunday from FOX Sports' Jay Glazer. ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported the Vikings want a second-round pick or a conditional third-round pick for Allen.
The Seattle Seahawks are making a strong push for Allen, Schefter tweeted on Tuesday. Minnesota is reportedly in talks with another team. The 49ers could be the other team, according to Tim Kawakami of the Mercury News.
Rapoport, however, believes a trade is unlikely. The Vikings "have no plans" to trade Allen, Rapoport tweeted on Tuesday. Glazer called any trade for Allen "a long shot" because of his contract.
*UPDATE (2:30 p.m. ET): Schefter reports Seattle is no longer expected to trade for Allen.
Josh Gordon:
Gordon's latest game against the Kansas City Chiefs only increased his value. Cleveland doesn't appear to be actively trying to shop Brown, but multiple outlets report the team as willing to listen to offers.
Rapoport reported on Tuesday the Browns would need a "monster offer" to part with Gordon, such as a second-round draft pick.
Hakeem Nicks: declined to rule out the possibility
It would take a big offer from a team for the Giants to deal Nicks, according to Rapoport.
