Patricia Elliott: 'One Life To Live' And Tony Award-Winning Actress Dies At 77

Tony-winning actress and soap opera star Patricia Elliott has passed away. The "One Life To Live" actress died in her Manhattan home on Sunday after a battle with cancer, her niece Sally Fay confirmed to The Associated Press. She was 77 years old.

Elliott won a Tony Award for best featured actress in 1973 during her Broadway musical debut as Countess Charlotte Malcolm in the original production of Stephen Sondheim's "A Little Night Music," according to ABC News. She was nominated for another Tony again in 1977 for her role in "The Shadow Box."

She then went on to star opposite David Bowie in "The Elephant Man" and then spent 23 years on and off playing Renee Divine Buchanan on the TV soap opera "One Live to Live," appearing most often from 2007 to 2011, according to Deadline. She was on the "CBS Radio Mystery Theater" series from 1974 to 1982, and she appeared on several TV shows including "Hill Street Blues," "Spenser: For Hire" and "Kate & Allie."

She is survived by a niece, an aunt and several cousins.
