New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.'s one-game suspension has been overturned, according to former New York Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes. The team has not been informed of any decision yet, according to Giants reporter Ralph Vacchiano. Tynes has not broken news for the team in the past, so it's fair to wonder at the validity of his report.
Beckham was suspended for one game following Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers in which he was flagged three times for personal fouls. The Giants face the Minnesota Vikings this upcoming Sunday, and the star receiver is a crucial piece if New York wants to keep their post-season hopes alive.
Panthers cornerback Josh Norman has reportedly been fined for his actions as well, but has stated he would appeal any fines against him. The Giants know how important Beckham is to their playoff chances, and head coach Tom Coughlin said that he doesn't believe the suspension is justice.
"It's not fair. It's not justice. It's not the way it was," said Coughlin, via Fox Sports. "If you're naïve enough to think that way they better do some soul searching."
Beckham, the Giants star receivert leads the team with 91 receptions for 1,396 yards and has scored 13 touchdowns. The Giants need help from other teams in the NFC East to make the playoffs, but with Beckham on the field they clearly have a better chance against the Vikings on Sunday Night Football.
