The Spice Girls could be spicing up life once again. Mel B, aka Scary Spice, hinted that the British girl group might reunite in 2016 for its 20th anniversary. During a recent appearance on the U.K. TV special "Alan Carr's New Year's Specstacular," Mel was asked if the Spice Girls had anything special planned for the occasion.
"I think I'm the one putting all the rumors out there," she said, according to the Mirror. "To be serious, it is our 20th anniversary this year and it would be rude not to celebrate.... So, hopefully, something will be happening pretty soon.... I can't tell you what it is yet."
Mel has previously been very vocal about wanting to officially reunite with all of the Spice Girls. In November, she opened up to Billboard about a potential tour in 2016.
"Once we sort everything out, we make an announcement, but right now we're just figuring it all out," she said. "Next year is our 20th anniversary so we're really just trying to make sure something happens."
The Spice Girls last released an album in 2000 before going on hiatus to pursue solo careers, reported Entertainment Weekly. The group later reunited for a world tour and new music in 2007 and 2008. They last performed together at the closing ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
