Authorities in Belgium have launched into an internal investigation following reports of several cops and soldiers engaging in an orgy while Brussels was on lockdown after the Paris terror attacks, according to reports.
Two policewomen and eight male soldiers are said to have engaged in a sex party at a police station in the Brussels neighbourhood of Ganshoren, close to the epicenter of the massive manhunt for suspects connected to the Paris attacks, Molenbeek, according to Belgian news outlet La Derniere Heure.
The Belgian government had raised its threat level to four, the nation's highest, for a five-day period following the attacks. During that time, restaurants, bars, and stores closed early and public transportation was brought to a griding halt.
In order to facilitate the search and lessen the commute after a shift, the police station was turned into a makeshift barracks for two weeks, reported the New York Daily News. About 15 to 20 people slept in the barracks within that period.
"When they left, they organized a small party to thank the police in the area," Police Spokesman Johan Berckmans said.
He revealed in an interview with De Standard that officials had been unaware of the orgy until they read about it in the news, but now an investigation has been launched to get to the bottom of it, according to the BBC.
"We have launched an investigation to find out what exactly happened," he said.
