Bollywood actress Vidya Balan was reportedly hospitalized in Mumbai's Hinduja Hospital for a suspected kidney stone on Tuesday.
"The couple boarded a connecting flight from Abu Dhabi to their holiday destination and while the aircraft was preparing to take off, she experienced a sharp pain in her back. The pain was so severe that paramedics had to be called on board and later, they were deplaned. She was taken to a clinic at the airport for further tests. Her temperature had also shot up," a source said, according to Mid Day newspaper.
"Soon after, they took a flight back to Mumbai. Upon return, Siddharth got her admitted to the Khar Hinduja Hospital. A few tests later, it seems like it could be a kidney stone," a statement said, according to Hindustan Times.
Balan's spokesperson confirmed her hospitalization saying that the actress is currently in expert hands at Mumbai's Hinduja Hospital and is well on her way to recovery, according to DNA India.
The 37-year-old actress, who has worked in movies like "Dirty Picture," "Kahaani," "Parineeta," and "Paa," will be seen next in Sujoy Ghosh's film, "Te3n." She will play a police officer on screen in the suspense thriller.
