Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin has listed her mammoth 8,000-square-foot estate in Scottsdale, Ariz., she bought four years ago. The 2008 vice presidential nominee has put the six-bedroom, six-and-a-half bathroom, six-car- garage home on the market for $2.5 million, the Los Angeles Times reported.
One of the listing agents, Richard Barker, told the Arizona Republic that there has been one offer and several serious inquiries on the home that is priced 50 percent higher than when the Palins bought it. "They're just not here enough to enjoy a house that big," Barker said. "For what they paid for it and what they've put into it, in my opinion, it's priced right." According to public records, Palin bought the property, a foreclosure, for $1.695 million in 2011.
The 4.9-acre equestrian estate "is sure to impress as you enter from a wraparound drive to access the private gated entrance," according to the listing. Among the amenities are multiple fireplaces and chandeliers, a media theater, a wine cellar, backyard fireplaces off the covered patio, a veranda and a rooftop deck off of the master suite. Also outdoors are a built-in grill station, fire pit, sparkling blue pool, spa and a lighted sports court surrounded by synthetic grass.
Palin has had a relatively low profile thus far during the 2016 race for the White House and Palin the entrepreneur hasn't done so well this year, either. In June, Fox News declined to renew her contract, Politico noted. In July, she ended paid subscriptions to her digital property, the Sarah Palin Channel, because of low interest, Variety reported.
One Arizona television station shared pictures of the home on Twitter.
