The München Hauptbahnhof and München-Pasing train stations were evacuated after authorities learned of possible terrorist attacks targeting them. Authorities stated they had "indications that a terror attack" could occur in the German city of Munich Thursday. Paris and Brussels both cancelled firework festivities, citing intel that suggested terrorists could strike during the celebration, according to Digital Journal. Officials believe the possible attacks present a "serious, imminent threat" and tweeted that trains were barred coming to and from the station, as VICE notes.
German officials gathered information from French authorities regarding the attacks. The type of threat, and its source, however, still remain unknown. "We have concrete information that cannot be swept under the carpet. We want to minimize the risk as much as possible," a police spokesperson stated.
Other cities, such as Belgium and Brussels, were also jolted by possible New Year's terrorist activities. Belgium and Brussels have since lowered their terror alerts, but New York remains vigilant, according to People.
