Former U.S. president Bill Clinton is set to hit the campaign trail with a rally at a community college in Nashua, N.H. and another event in Exeter Monday.
"He will discuss how Hillary Clinton will make a difference for families in the Granite State and across the country," the Clinton campaign said in an email of the man whom Hillary has called her "not-so-secret weapon" during the 2016 campaign, according to USA Today.
The Clinton campaign hopes to cash in on the former president's oratorical skills in favor of Democratic front-runner Hillary in a state that is set to host the nation's first presidential primary on Feb. 9. Iowa, which votes via the caucus method, will register its choice for president on Feb. 1.
The former president's entry to the campaign trail has drawn remarks from political adversary Donald Trump, who blasted Bill's "terrible record" with women in a tweet in December, reported AFP.
Trump followed it up with this remark on Jan. 2.
The effect of the former president on his wife's second run for presidency remains to be seen, with Shaun Bowler, professor of political science at the University of California, Riverside, saying, "Hillary Clinton is a formidable campaigner and runs a smart, well-organised and disciplined campaign."
"These are clearly strengths - and they speak to just what Bill's role will be. It's clear that he could overshadow her but the campaign will not let that happen," Bowler said, according to The Guardian.
