The first and opening T20 International (T20I) of the two-match series between host New Zealand and Sri Lanka will be played Thursday at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.

The hosts, who recently clinched a five-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, are now looking to continue their winning momentum in the T20 series.
The Black Caps won the first, second and fifth ODIs, while the visitors registered a comeback victory in the third, according to BBC Sports. The fourth ODI, played at Saxton Oval in Nelson on Saturday, was abandoned due to rain.
Batting first in the fifth ODI on Monday, New Zealand made 294 with the help of Martin Guptill's 102 from 109 balls. The Sri Lankans were bowled out for 258, according to NZ Herald.
