Just weeks before the release of her new movie, "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence chopped off her long locks, showing off her new pixie haircut during a chat today on Google+ Hangout, E! News reports.
"She loves it!" a source close to the star told E! News.
Not only did she cut off most of her hair in favor of her latest super-short cut, the star also recently went back to blonde, posting pictures of her rocking of the new 'do to her official Facebook page, including a black-and-white shot of her trying out Google Glass.
Fans on Facebook immediately filled the comments section of her latest photos with positivity, many writing they they loved the 23-year-old's new haircut, which HollywoodLife calls "casual but chic" and argues is a much more flattering look as compared to when she dyed her hair jet black in February.
After all, it isn't the first time that Lawrence has played up her look by changing her hair. When Lawrence debuted a wavy bob at the GLAAD Awards in March, hairstylist Mark Townsend told Allure magazine that "it wasn't for a role, it was totally spontaneous," and fellow short-haired lady Miley Cyrus tweeted her support.
Currently the star is rumored to be on the set of "Mockingjay: Part 1" the next film in "The Hunger Games" series, and E! News speculates she'll now have to wear a wig in order to pull off her character Katniss Everdeen's signature braid. She and co-star Liam Hemsworth were both spotted on set late last month working on a scene in the forest.
"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" hits theaters Nov. 22, and its sequel "Mockingjay: Part 1" is planned for a Nov. 21, 2014 release.
