Xbox One Demonstrates Kinect QR Codes Will Replace Redeeming 25-Digit Codes (VIDEO)

Previously on Microsoft's Xbox 360, the only way to cash in on a pre-paid Xbox Live card was to meticulously hunt and peck in a 25-digit redeem code. Now, with the release of the Xbox One, Microsoft has found a way to make this process significantly easier.

The Xbox One will be making your life a whole lot easier thanks to Kinect 2's new ability to read QR codes in order to grant the user access to specific games, products and services, according to IGN.

Xbox Live's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb posted a Vine on his personal blog that details just how quick this process is. The video is featured below but the fact that it's a Vine tells us a lot since the app only allows for six-second video clips maximum.

In the video, all one needs to do is hold the purchased card's QR code up to the television's Kinect 2 camera sensor. From there the Xbox does the rest. Gone are the days when you would have to struggle with the menu's keyboard application and methodically move the thumb sticks all over the place trying to ensure you got the code in properly.

The whole process takes about five seconds from the point of him saying "Xbox use a code," to the Kinect picking up the QR ode and redeeming whatever it is you want to redeem, be it an Xbox Live subscription or game download.

Obviously the ability to punch in a 25 digit code should your QR code or Kinect 2 sensor fail for whatever reason, you won't be locked out of Xbox Live.

Does this new feature entice you toward making the purchase of the Xbox One? Many haven't been sold on the Kinect 2 motion sensor camera but this new feature really shows off what it can do. Comment and share your thoughts on the Xbox One's Kinect motion sensor below.
