Fans are still awaiting the release of "Pokemon GO" with bated breath. Previous rumors indicated that its launch could coincide with the 20th anniversary of the "Pokemon" game this February. In the meantime, there is a lull in news reports about the Nintendo title, except for the information that it has now entered beta phase.
The closed beta testing report was published by Movie Pilot. The information is not entirely unfounded, as Niantic Labs previously announced that the beta phase for "Pokemon GO" will take place during the winter. This is important for "Pokemon GO" watchers, as the beta stage is just a step away from the product release within the conventional software release cycle. The game is expected to exit the open and closed beta stage in the first quarter of 2016, which is still close to the rumored anniversary release. If the game fails to launch within this time frame, it will probably be available for download on May 2016, a month after the rumored anniversary release.
In the meantime, gamers who are hungry for "Pokemon" content have to make do with the upcoming release of the "Pokken Tournament" for the Wii U platform. It is a cross between "Pokemon" and "Tekken" and will hit the console platform this spring, according to GameSpot. "Pokemon" fans would be delighted to know that one of the potential monsters for this game is Dark Mewtwo, which was spotted in the video footage of the gameplay found below.
