'Pokémon GO' Release: Rumor Points To A New December Reveal, Link To 'Pokémon Z'

Nintendo Direct has not provided new details about "Pokémon GO's" release. The game was first announced in September and the unspecified 2016 launch, reported by HNGN, remains the officially "confirmed" date. The lack of information, however, is currently being filled up with several rumors concerning the release date, game content and possible link to the "Pokémon Z" release.

One of the unconfirmed reports concerning "Pokémon GO's" launch involve the specific Feb. 27, 2016 launch. The date is significant because that will be the day the original Pokémon game turns 20, as it was first launched on the same date in 1996.

Now, if new rumors are to be believed, this date will finally get a confirmation next month. This is due to a new insight provided by a Japanese magazine called CoroCoro. Its November issue declared a promise to publish new information about "Pokémon GO's" release in its upcoming December edition.

What is known so far is that "Pokémon GO" and "Pokémon Z" will work with augmented reality technology. However, this information has been part of the original Nintendo announcement, which included a brief look of the Bluetooth wearable smartband that will be used to hunt monsters.

There is the claim, however, that "Pokémon GO's" technology will be better and more immersive than "Pokémon Z," particularly with its use of social and open experiences, according to the Day Herald.
