The Scorchers, which have already sealed a spot in the top four, are now looking to consolidate their position with a win against the Stars.
In a setback to the Scorchers ahead of Saturday's encounter, pacer Jason Behrendorff has been ruled out with a sore back. He is also doubtful for the remaining league matches.
"His back's been sore for the past few games. It' just gets to the point where the pain is affected his quality. We are hoping that by giving him this rest for this game, he'll be right for semi-finals. But there's no guarantees," skipper Adam Voges said, according to Cricbuzz.
On the other hand, the Melbourne Stars are looking to guarantee their place in the top four. If they win Saturday's match, they will finish second or third, according to Cricket Australia.
