British male group The Wanted, who have famously feuded with One Direction, have insisted that their "rockier" edge makes them unlike other boy bands, if you so choose to call them that.
"The market is saturated already with boy bands," 25-year-old member Tom Parker argued to British magazine Star, according to the Belfast Telegraph. "We bring a rock side to our live performances and we all pick up our instruments and we all make sure that we play. We like to get a bit rough and sweaty."
The band, consisting of Parker, Nathan Sykes, Max George, Siva Kaneswaran and Jay McGuiness, were formed and signed to Island Records and Mercury Records in 2009, currently managed by Scooter Braun, who is known for representing famous acts like Justin Bieber, Psy and Carly Rae Jepsen.
In their recent documentary, "The Wanted Life," the band's love of partying was well-documented, though the boys insisted to Star that they're intent on learning how to settle down, Parker telling the magazine that they "are trying not to drink as much" as before.
"Jay has been sober since October, after Max shaved his hair off in a moment of drunken madness, and he just thought, 'F**k it, I'm going to start sober October to stop these kind of mental things happening.' But we've got Movember coming, so expect to see some crazy-ass 'taches coming out," he said.
Skyes has most recently confirmed that he's dating singer and Nickelodeon star Ariana Grande, having been featured in her song, "Almost Is Never Enough."
"Any spare moment they get, they're trying to see each other, so it is very much puppy love," Parker said. "Nath's always been the little baby brother of the group, so it's really nice to see him grow up into a man."
