Fred Armisen has starred in television shows like "Saturday Night Live" and "Portlandia," but the comedian is also a huge music fan. The bandleader on "Late Night with Seth Meyers" dropped by "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon," where he put his music knowledge to the test against Fallon in a game called "Instant Song Analysis."
The two "SNL" alums took turns making up songs on the spot for the other to analyze. Fallon was up first and made up a song about a boy who met a girl and bought a house and a horse for her. Armisen thought the song was beautiful and really dug deep for the meaning of "house" and "horse."
"'House' and 'horse,' why those words? You think, 'Oh, 'cause they're H-words. It's not as simple as that," Armisen said. "Because to some people, a house is a horse. Think of it as an acronym: Hey Over Really So Everybody. You know when you say that in front of your house? It's that kind of thing."
The singing duties were then handed over to Armisen, who sang a song about 23 cousins who all had crew cuts. So what was Fallon's analysis? He thought the song was about how a cousin started his own hair-cutting business at a family reunion, and the only haircut he could do was a crew cut.
