If a leak spotted on the Chinese social media site Weibo is indeed accurate, Samsung's upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S7, seems to have the makings of a monster, save for one particular quirk. The smartphone, codenamed SM-G930F, boasts a list of very impressive specs, according to the Weibo post, according to PC Magazine reported.
The specs, shown in an AnTuTu benchmark result, state that the new flagship would have a 5.1-inch display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 and is powered by Samsung's home-grown octa-core Exynos 8890 SoC. The handset tested also had a very hefty 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of local storage.
One particularly interesting feature in the leak is the handset's rear-facing camera, which was registered with a 12-megapixel sensor, far below the 16-megapixel offering that is found in the company's current flagships, the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge and S7 Edge+ variants, reported Tech Spot.
This contrasts with other rumors, which suggest that that the upcoming device would feature a massive 20-megapixel sensor at the back. With regards to the smartphone's camera, at least, it does seem like users would have to wait for next month's Mobile World Congress to find out.
Capping off the leak was the battery unit in the device, which is a pretty massive 3,600 mAh unit. Coupled with the powerful Exynos processor, the extremely high-resolution screen, and the hefty RAM, the Galaxy S7, or, at least, the variant that was utilized in the leak, seems to have the makings of a true beast, according to Android Origin.
Other rumors about the device state that the new flagship would feature a force-touch feature similar to the 3D Touch panel found in the iPhone 6S and 6S Pus, as well as a micro-SD slot.
