‘Batman Vs. Superman’ Movie: Villian Lex Luthor Confirmed for Appearance in ‘Man of Steel’ Sequel

Lex Luthor will be in the "Man of Steel" sequel tentatively given the title "Batman vs. Superman." According to Screen Crush, director Zack Snyder attended a special fan Q&A session with stars Amy Adams and Henry Cavill (via telecast from London) and host Kevin Smith for the Blue-ray DVD release of "Man of Steel."

Snyder surprised fans by dropping hints and spoilers about the new sequel. It had been rumored for a while that Superman's nemesis Lex Luthor would be featured in the sequel and Snyder pretty much confirmed the rumor at the event when he was asked about Superman's heritage.

"At its core, Superman is an alien," he said. "He comes from an alien world... Lex loves to call him an alien."

"That's a spoiler, folks," Smith added.

The movie has not been given an official title yet but the director said "Part of the fun of the idea [is] to be able to sort of play with that relationship, whether they're fighting or they become friends... That's the fun of making movies and playing with this mythology."

But not to worry, he did reveal that there will be some conflict between the Caped Crusader and the Man of Steel.

"Of course, there will be some physical conflicts, as well," Snyder said.

Later on Smith spilled some more major details on his podcast Hollywood Babble-On. He told fans that while he was backstage at the event Snyder showed him a picture of the new batsuit. He said it's gong "to be different from anything we've ever seen before."

"I saw the Batman costume. More than that I saw a picture of him [Affleck] in the costume... Now, I don't want to give anything away 'cause that is up to them and stuff. But I am going to say this, I instantly bear hugged him [Snyder]," he said. "You have not seen this costume in a movie on film before, and for a comic book fan, it was mind bending. I was like 'Get the f**k out of here,' only you have enough power to pull this off."

There were rumors that the new suit was being designed after the 2011 graphic novel "Batman: Noel."
