The dominant hosts are eyeing the series win as they already have a 1-0 lead over the Pakistan.
The Black Caps registered a 70-run victory over the visitors in the first ODI, played at Wellington on Monday.
Batting first, the Kiwi team posted a total of 280 on the scoreboard with the help of Henry Nicholls' 80-run knock, according to Express Tribune.
Pakistan, in reply, was bundled out for 210. Trent Boult took four wickets while Grant Elliot claimed three.
"If we're going to be honest we should have got them out for 200-odd, seeing the start we had. The short ball worked to a certain extent but we overdid it, and we didn't learn and we just didn't bowl enough Yorkers," Pakistan batting coach Grant Flower said after the loss, according to AFP.
