Circuit City stores will be back again at the end of the year. Circuit City opened its doors in 1949 and became a known electronic retail giant but ended the business after 60 years in 2009, declaring bankruptcy.
Retail veterans Ronny Shmoel and Albert Liniado will try to bring the retail chain back to life after getting hold of the brand. Led by Shmoel, the duo aims not only to bring Circuit City back to life, but also expand to other ventures such as mobile shops, their own privately labeled products and launching web sales and franchising - all under the known brand.
"The vendors were very excited," Shmoel said, according to TWICE. "We want to become best partners with them. Brands have become diminished in lieu of price, and consumer education has worsened with the growth of the web."
Albert Liniado will stand as Circuit City's Vice President for business development. He left DataVision after 25 years of being the president in 2014 and started strategy consultancy company, Monsta Innovations.
Circuit City's premiere store's target opening is in June. The store will be designed to attract the new generation of consumers with "product zones" in their stores where brands can place their products, according to CNBC.
Shmoel targets to have 50 to 100 by 2017. They will also market their brand online and sell products on CircuitCity.com, according to NBC News.
