Rihanna 'ANTI': Album Earns TIDAL 1 Million Trial Subscriptions, Physical Copy To Be Released Feb. 5

Rihanna finally released the first single, "Work," from her highly-anticipated new album "ANTI" Wednesday morning and then shocked the world when she released the entire album later that night on TIDAL. It had been four long years since the iconic singer had released an album, and after months and months of speculation, "ANTI," which is her eighth studio album, was finally available for digital download, but only for those who subscribe to TIDAL.

TIDAL is a streaming service owned by Jay Z that has exclusive content to those who pay for it. As soon as Rihanna's full album went up on TIDAL, "ANTI" earned the streaming service 1 million new trial subscribers in just 15 hours, according to Hot New Hip Hop. Since Rihanna and Samsung are working together to promote the album, when she first announced the release, she also revealed that TIDAL was giving out 1 million download codes for a free digital copy of "ANTI," and those codes came with a free 60-day TIDAL trial.

Since the promo code did not require these 1 million trial users to provide credit card information, their subscriptions will not be automatically renewed when the 60-day trial period is over. However, the album was reportedly streamed over 13 million times during the first 14 albums, which is an incredible victory for TIDAL.

"1 MILLION in under 15 hrs!!!!" Rihanna tweeted following the exciting news. "NAVY R die!!!! Thank u to all my fans and @samsungmobileus Listen to ANTI now."

The 27-year-old singer also announced on Instagram Friday morning that "ANTI" had already gone platinum, which had to have set some sort of record.

The physical album will be released one week after the digital album release on Feb. 5 in both standard and deluxe formats, according to Billboard. The deluxe album set will feature the same three bonus tracks that are currently available on the deluxe digital edition, which are, "Goodnight Gotham," "Pose" and "Sex With Me."
