Fetch, a pet store in U.K., has introduced a smart collar concept that aims to analyze dog barks and translate them into human language through an app that it has dubbed "WhatsYapp."
Aside from dog barks, it will also factor in dog movement and activities when creating a translation code for the device so that it could also determine if the dog is stressed, hungry, excited, bored or confused. The people behind the concept are describing this future tech as the "most advanced communications system" between dogs and humans, according to News Week.
However, there is no discussion yet as to how the company plans to achieve the creation of the device.
Together with the "WhatsYapp" app are two other tech proposals from the company - "CatQuest" and "PetPounds."
"Petpounds" aims to increase human and pet interaction by rewarding humans with credits, points and vouchers for every instance they bond with their pets. The owner wears a wristband while the dog has a collar, and an app will determine the proximity, activity and duration of the interaction between the owner and the pet in order to give out appropriate rewards.
"CatQuest" is an interactive 3-D projection game station for felines which can be activated via an app. Once the app is activated, it will turn an area of the house into a play center for cats, which includes lasers for it to chase and catch, according to Daily Mail.
Here is a video that demonstrates the three pet technology concepts:
