The 50th anniversary special of Doctor Who is on its way for November 23 and will feature both 10 and 11 together for the first, and likely only, time battling to save mankind once again. However, if you can find it in your Whovian heart to hold off on watching "The Day of the Doctor" for two days, you can see it on November 25 in select theaters in 3D.

NCM Fathom Events, BBC America and IGN are partnering up to bring The Doctor to the big screen for an unprecedented one-night only event on Monday Nov. 25 at 7:30 p.m. in select theaters across the country.

If you can't wait for the theatrical release and simply must watch it at home on your TV, you might want to go and re-watch it in theaters as "The Day of the Doctor" will also include specially shot introductions and "The Day of the Doctor: Behind The Lens," a 10-minute featurette that will debut right after the special, according to IGN. The short includes Who stars Matt Smith, David Tennant, Jenna-Louise Coleman, Billie Piper and John Hurt as well as the lead writer and executive producer of the current series, Steven Moffat. Each will discuss their personal experiences from filming the 50th anniversary special.

In addition to the screening, BBC America will also be hosting a global simulcast of the event in 3D in eleven cities on Saturday, November 23 at the same time as the 75-minute premiere special begins. Tickets for that event are available for purchase at Cinemark.com, REGMovies.com and Fandango.com
