"Rocket League" has only been available for the PC and PlayStation 4 platforms since last July. This is set to change, as the game will finally land on the Xbox One console Feb. 17, Jeremy Dunham, vice president at Psyonix, revealed in an official statement.
To make up for lost time, Xbox One users will enjoy several perks, which include three content packs downloadable for free: the "Supersonic Fury," "Revenge of the Battle-Cars," and "Chaos Run." In addition, Psyonix promised players two vehicles that are exclusive to the Xbox platform: the Armadillo from "Gears of War" and the Hogsticker, which is based on "Halo's" Warthog. There are also exclusive garage items such as Fizzie and the Overcharge Rocket Trail from "Sunset Overdrive."
For Xbox users who still do not know what "Rocket League" is all about, it is essentially an amped up football game, according to Engadget. Instead of humans, however, players commander rocket-powered vehicles that elevate the action to a whole new level. It is an award-winning game, having clinched Polygon's Best Indie Game and Best Sports/Racing Game spots for 2015. The spirit of "Rocket League" is captured in the game's Xbox announcement trailer below.
"Rocket League" will be available Wednesday for $20 or its regional equivalent.
