‘Mrs. Doubtfire’: Watch Deleted Scenes Too Dark For The Final Cut (VIDEO)

The balance of comedy and drama "Mrs. Doubtfire" was near perfect, but deleted scenes recently uncovered show director Chris Columbus almost took a much darker route for his film about a divorced father who would do anything, even dress as a woman, to be with his kids.

Matthew Keys uploaded two deleted scenes from the 1993 film starring Robin Williams and Sally Field that reveal a much harsher tone between their characters. One scene also reveals a touching moment between Williams' Daniel and Lisa Jakub, who plays oldest daughter Lydia. But in the next scene, she's yelling "I hate you both!" at her parents.

The second scene likely came after the dinner scene where Mrs. Doubtfire is exposed to be Daniel. He shows up at his ex-wife's (Field) home still dressed as Mrs. Doubtfire and the two get in a screaming match where he reveals the kids knew about his cross-dressing before her.

It's unclear where the first scene would have fallen, but Lydia already knows her father is dressing as Mrs. Doubtfire as she makes reference to him pretending to play the nanny and his animated character Pudgy the Bird.

The scenes are also heartbreaking as they reveal a much more broken Williams and not his signature comedic riffing.
