Manchester United is preparing a purchase for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to the Daily Mail. United has an influx of cash to spend in the summer transfer window and will have to shell out £70 million to German side Dortmund to acquire Aubameyang.
It was revealed this week that Manchester United has £121 million to spend on players this summer. Despite being linked to superstars such as Neymar, Gareth Bale and Robert Lewandowski of late, Aubameyang's speed, versatility and reasonable price tag could make the Gabon International the most viable option for Manchester United.
United isn't the only premier league club hoping to acquire Aubameyang. Like most clubs, Arsenal wants to strengthen its side trough the transfer window, and the Gunners have been linked to the Borussia Dortmund striker, according to Metro.
With 27 goals in 27 appearances with Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, Aubameyang would look good at Arsenal playing alongside set up man Mesut Ozil, who leads the Premier League in assists with 16.
Not wanting to be left out, Liverpool was also rumored to be in the mix for Aubameyang in the January transfer window, Metro reported. Despite not being able to strike a deal in January, a reunion could be in the works at Merseyside this summer, as the coveted forward played under current Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp at Dortmund from 2013-2015.
Aubameyang's speed and capability to play forward or a winger make him highly coveted in the Premier League. The 26-year-old will likely be sold to the highest bidder in England when the summer transfer window opens in July.
