Now that Lamar Odom is back on his feet and doing much better, he wants to do whatever he can to thank his estranged wife Khloé Kardashian for all she did while he was recovering in the hospital the past couple of months.
The 36-year-old former NBA player is so grateful for what Kardashian did to help him recover from the near-fatal overdose that left him hospitalized in October that he wanted to make this Valentine's Day extra special.
"If it weren't for Khloe, Lamar wouldn't be alive," a source told Hollywood Life last week. "She's helped him walk, talk, read, and even training him to get back into the best shape of his life. This Valentine's Day, Lamar is planning a very special and romantic evening for Khloe. Yes, there will be flowers, chocolate and her favorite champagne."
When Sunday finally came, the two ended up spending the special day together in a low-key way.
"It was more of friendship than romantic love," a source told E! News. "Lamar appreciates Khloe so much for everything she has done for him these past few months."
The source also explained that Odom got her "beautiful flowers for being the woman and friend he will always love."
Kardashian posted a photo of 42 beautiful red roses to Instagram simply writing "Happy Valentine's Day," and although she did not specify who gifted her these roses, there's a good chance they were from Odom.
She also posted a cryptic quote with a lengthy caption that read, "Spend your time on those who love you unconditionally. Don't waste it on those who only love you when the conditions are right for them."
This comes just days after Odom made his first public appearance at Kanye West's Yeezy Season 3 fashion show at Madison Square Garden during NYFW, as HNGN previously reported. He and Kardashian looked happy as could be as they posed for photos backstage and supported West from the crowd.
