Rihanna had to cancel her Grammys performance hours before the show due to health issues.
TMZ reports that Rihanna has been suffering from bronchitis and taking meds. The doctor on site recommended the singer sit out her performance or she could risk permanently damaging her vocal chords.
Her rep told Billboard that Rihanna has been on antibiotics for three days, but the meds "did not kill the infection adequately." The rep added Rihanna "was at risk of hemorrhaging her vocal chords."
Rihanna was scheduled to sing "Kiss Me Better" off her new album, "Anti." She rehearsed the song twice at the Staples Center but didn't walk the red carpet before the ceremony. She then left and headed home, but reportedly "killed it at rehearsal," according to Billboard.
"Anti," Rihanna's eighth studio album, dropped on Jan. 27. It was her first album in four years since 2012's "Unapologetic."
The 58th Annual Grammy Awards aired on Sunday, Feb. 15 on CBS and featured performances from Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd and a tribute to The Eagles' Glenn Frey.
