Ashlee Holmes, the daughter of reality TV star Jacqueline Laurita, announced her engagement to her boyfriend Pete Malleo on Instagram Friday. Laurita, star of Bravo's hit reality TV series "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," took to social media to share her excitement and congratulate her daughter.
Laurita shared a photo of her daughter and her son-in-law to be, taking shortly after he popped the question. In the shot, Holmes and Malleo wore huge smiles on their faces, and Holmes placed her left hand on her fiancé's chest, showing off her sparkly new engagement ring.
"I woke up so happy today knowing my beautiful, grown up, 25 year old daughter @ashleenicholexx will be in good hands with this thoughtful, considerate, handsome, kind gentleman @c3peteo ! #engaged #beautiful #RHONJ #IMustBeOld #Smotherinlaw #me," Laurita, 46, wrote in the caption on Instagram.
Holmes shared the same sweet photo to her Instagram page and added the caption, "I said 'yes.' Thank you for such an amazing day @c3peteo ...I'm so excited for this next chapter of our lives."
She dished about the details of Malleo's proposal, which was shot for an upcoming episode of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," E! News reported. Holmes said that her new fiancé is her cousin Albie Manzo's friend from high school, and the couple met when they were 18 years old. Malleo asked Holmes' parents for their blessing before popping the question at a love lock gate in Hoboken.
Malleo proposed to Holmes with a gorgeous 3-carat cushion-cut diamond set into a diamond-encrusted band designed by M Jewelers, according to the company's Instagram page. Holmes shared a video of her new bling on Instagram.
"Alright... some of you still haven't seen my ring... and you've been asking me to post a photo... so here's a nice little video of it taken by @themjewelers (where it was created) I love it so much," Holmes wrote in the caption.
