LG Unveils Tone Platinum Headset

LG has unveiled a new headset that looks like a Star Trek visor, the Daily Mail reports, and it promises quality sound over Bluetooth connections.

The Tone Platinum comes with up to 10 hours of music time and 11 hours of talk time, according to LG.

It also has the Balanced Armature design to minimize distortion and aptX HD Audio Codec that delivers good sound over Bluetooth. It also features dual microphones with noise cancelling capabilities and Voice Command that allows users to take incoming calls by voice.

"The LG TONE Platinum is a showcase of innovative technologies that aims to deliver premium sound quality in a form-factor that millions of customers have come to embrace," said Michael Park, vice president in charge of Innovative Personal Devices Business Division at LG Electronics. "LG's TONE offerings are second to none in the wireless Bluetooth world which is a key growth area for our mobile business."

The headset was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain and will be available this March in Europe, Asia and Latin America.

LG was the third most popular headphone brand in 2015, according to CNET.
