Demi Lovato is always one to speak her mind. The pop star took to her Twitter account on Sunday to voice her support to fellow pop star Kesha after her devastating court loss against her producer Dr. Luke. During the Twitter rant Lovato also criticized Taylor Swift after Swift donated $250,000 in the wake of Kesha's ongoing legal battle.
"Take something to Capitol Hill or actually speak out about something and then I'll be impressed," Lovato wrote on the social media site.
As soon as Lovato sent out the tweet that appeared to be aimed at Swift, the "Bad Blood" singer's fans had her back and demanded Lovato take back her words.
"How the f--k am I making this about myself?" blasted Lovato in an Instagram comment, according to Just Jared. "At least I'm talking about it. Not everyone has 250k to just give to people. Would love to but I didn't grow up with money and def haven't made as much as her. At least I speak up about s--t that's uncomfortable to talk about rather than trying to be politically correct 24/7."
"There's no 'rivalry' I just give more f--ks than other people and would rather start a dialogue ABOUT WOMEN COMING FORWARD ABOUT BEING RAPED than throw money at one person," Lovato continued. "I didn't shade Taylor. If you take it that way than[sic] fine."
In October 2014, Kesha sued her producer Dr. Luke and accused him of drugging, raping and abusing her a decade ago, according to Rolling Stone. The producer has denied all claims and argued that she made up the allegations in order to get out of her record contract with Sony. On Friday, Kesha lost her case and will have to record six more records under Dr. Luke and Sony.
