Will Yeezy season ever end? On Monday, a music video for two of Kanye West's songs, "All Day" and "I Feel Like That," was released almost a year after the rapper announced he was making a video for the songs. "All Day/I Feel Like That" is directed by "12 Years a Slave" director Steve McQueen and features West running around a room for nine minutes as he raps his songs.
Neither "All Day" nor "I Feel Like That" are featured on West's most recent album "The Life of Pablo," which was released earlier this month. The video was filmed last year in London with West later premiering the video during Paris Fashion Week in March 2015, according to SPIN. West and McQueen then later showed off their collaboration at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art where it was shown on a massive screen with four huge stereos blasting the two songs put together.
The director and rapper teamed up for the music video when West randomly contacted McQueen to work on a project together. The two kept in communication for years "until one day, we bumped into each other in a store in London," West said, according to the Los Angeles Times. West then asked the filmmaker to work on the video, and five days later the vision was already in the works.
McQueen explained that he requested that West "beat himself up" before he started filming so the rapper could have a proper distressed and tired-out look.
"I elevated my palate," West said when asked why he wanted to work with McQueen. "I wanted him to be in charge. ... It wasn't overly thought-out. ... He came to our wedding, also."
