Louis Tomlinson is a proud papa and wants the world to know it. The One Direction singer continues to show off his son, Freddie - this time posting a gorgeous new portrait of himself cuddling up to his one-month-old son. The black and white intimate snapshot shows the new dad - with his many tattoos - playfully holding his son and resting a finger on the little one's cute nose, while the newborn, who is wrapped in a blanket, stares up at his papa.
"Lad and Dad," Tomlinson captioned the portrait. Tomlinson and his close friend Briana Jungwirth welcomed their first child together on Jan. 21, as previously reported by HNGN. At the time, he announced his son on Twitter and later posted a black and white photo of himself cradling his little boy on Instagram, with the caption, "Meet my little lad, Freddie."
"Louis is happy and very excited about becoming a dad and he thinks Briana will be an amazing mother," a mutual friend of the parent told People Magazine. "It was a surprise at first, but he and Briana are very, very close friends and this has brought them even closer."
"Louis and Briana care about each other very much and have spent a lot of time together privately over the last few months. They are both really happy and although they aren't in a relationship, their friendship is extremely strong and they are both really excited about the baby," the friend added.
Last week, Jungwirth shared an adorable snap of her little man squeezing her fingers on Valentine's Day. She captioned the post, "couldn't have asked for a better valentine."
While Tomlinson and Jungwirth, who briefly dated last May after Tomlinson's split from long-term girlfriend Eleanor Calder, are no longer romantically involved, they are reportedly working together to raise their son. The "History" singer, who is currently dating "The Originals" actress Danielle Campbell, will reportedly remain in the United States to help raise Freddie and plans to be a "hands-on dad and support" his baby's mother any way possible.
"Although they're not romantically involved, Louis thinks Briana is a great woman and will be a fabulous mother," a friend of Tomlinson told the Daily Mail Online. "Louis has been helping Briana financially and is prepared to get stuck in with all the tasks that caring for a baby demands."
