Celine Dion Returns To Vegas, Pays Tribute To Late Husband

Celine Dion made her triumphant return to the stage in Las Vegas on Tuesday evening and honored her late husband René Angélil.

The Canadian singer started out her set at the Caesars Palace with a tribute to Angélil - a short video about his life, which was also made available through a live stream from the superstar's official Facebook page, according to the Toronto Sun.

"I understood that my career was in a way his masterpiece, his song, his symphony," the text of the video tribute read, according to Hello! Magazine. "The idea of leaving it unfinished would have hurt him terribly. I realised that if he ever left us, I would have to continue without him, for him."

The curtains parted to reveal Dion wearing a shiny, black, long gown, and she began to sing "With One More Look At You" after she was given a standing ovation.

Afterwards, the star went on to address the crowd, noting that her late husband had always supported her in her entire career.

"Every time I closed my eyes I felt René on stage with me, whether he was seated in his seat right there, in the balcony, backstage, or at home with the kids, he's always been on stage with me. And nothing could ever change that," she said, Good Morning America reported.

Dion went on to say that she and Angélil will "always be one" and that she always talks to him whenever she can.

Angélil passed away on Jan. 14 after a lengthy battle with throat cancer. Two days later, her brother Daniel also died due to the same disease.
