Uncharted is arguably the single most popular PlayStation-exclusive game franchise the console has to offer. Developer Naughty Dog has been riding the success of this series since the first installment was released. As a result it's no surprise that the developer has announced plans for a new Uncharted game for the next-gen console the PlayStation 4.
The game was revealed with a small teaser trailer, featured below, with a voice over that, interestingly enough, was not done by Nathan Drake actor Nolan North but rather by the actor Todd Stashwick. In the video Stashwick talks about being "buried alive," "erased" and "lost [for] 15 years" according to IGN.
Fans of the series have no idea who Stashwick is supposed to be and were offered no context to the voice-over's lines. In fact, no one technically knows if the next Uncharted game will be titled "Uncharted 4." While it seems unlikely that Nathan Drake will have nothing to do with the new game, so far there has been no evidence of his involvement and a slew of evidence of Stashwick's involvement based on postings from his Twitter page.
He has been very active with teasers on his social media account teasing motion capture for the new game. In one tweet he took a slefie of himself in a motion capture suit. In subsequent tweets, as well as a post on Instagram, he shows a dummy wearing a motion capture suit holding an apple and an assault rifle.
While not much else is known about the project, one bit of information that fans can be excited about is the fact that the PlayStation 4 installment will be written by series creator Amy Hennig and creative director, and "Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception" director Justin Richmond is also back.
