A gamer discovered a hidden menu in the arcade versions of the classic fighting game "Mortal Kombat."
As the game was created more than 20 years ago, it has also been that long since the secret menu stayed hidden; a menu programmed by the creator of the game himself, EJ Boon, according to BGR.
The menu, called the EJB, offers a lot of options that players cannot access in the normal version. The menus are also different for each "Mortal Kombat" arcade type.
Upon access to the "Mortal Kombat" and "Mortal Kombat II" secret menus, players can access the character story endings, run diagnostics and debugging, enter game name into the leaderboard, and do "coin bookkeeping," according to Fox Sports. A list of names of people that Boon wanted to give a shout out to can also be accessed.
"Mortal Kombat III" has more features than the first two arcade versions. It allows players to unlock hidden characters even without going through the game, and it also gives access to videos of the fatality moves of the characters. However, the highlight of the secret menu for the third version is that it features another game within the game called "Galaga," according to Ubergizmo.
As of now, there is no news as to whether the hidden menus also exist in other titles of the game, as well as in other console versions.
Below is the video demonstrating what can be achieved upon access to the hidden "Mortal Kombat" menus.
